Kirkbean hosts a number of events throughout the year, many of which are held in the village hall which is available to hire. Details will be published here, so please check back regularly.


Kirkbean Parish Heritage Society Exhibit Event - Saturday 27th and Sunday, 28th August 

Kirkbean Parish Heritage Society is holding an Exhibit Event on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th August 2022. 

Taking place from 12 noon until 4pm in Kirkbean Village Hall, the Society will have numerous displays showcasing fishing, the Old Pier and quarantine area at Carsethorn, farming through the generations, our school and its pupils, Kirkbean Church and graveyard readings, Preston Cross, Southerness and the lighthouse, shipwrecks in the area, local history and heritage photographs amongst many others.

The Society invites people with old photographs and memorabilia from the area to bring these along to share over the course of the weekend. 

Admission is free and all are welcome to attend; tea, coffee and home baking will be available to purchase.

We look forward to seeing faces old and new - a warm welcome awaits.

Village Hall Commitee

The Village Hall Committee meets on the first Monday of each month in the hall at 7.30pm. All residents welcome. The Committee is looking for new members, please get involved.

MEMORABILIA & COLLECTION EVENT - SATURDAY 24TH AND SUNDAY 25TH MARCH, 2018

Carsethorn Regatta 1907

Kirkbean Parish Heritage Society are holding a Memorabilia and Collection Event weekend, on 24th and 25th of March 2018. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend; tea, coffee and home baking will be available to purchase.
On these days, from 11am until 3pm, in Kirkbean Village Hall, the society will have displays on show relating to Smuggling, Fishing and Emigration from Carsethorn, Farming over the years, our School and its pupils, Kirkbean Church and graveyard readings, Southerness and its lighthouse, Local History and Heritage sights, amongst others.
The Society would like people with old photographs to bring them along to share and make copies for future albums.
We look forward to seeing you at some point over the weekend.

Annette Need of Annette's Baking in a Box is holding a "baking bee" evening at Kirkbean Village Hall on Tuesday March 28th, 2017, to prove you don't have to give up the taste when eating gluten and dairy-free bakes.

This fun event starts at 6.30pm and is open to all. Tickets are £10.00.
